Lesson Program

Different Drummer Farm offers quality group and private
lessons. New riders are encouraged to ride in a half hour
private lesson and intermediate and higher are put into
small groups according to age and ability. It is our philosophy
that you learn by watching as well as doing. Private lessons
are available for riders intermediate and higher.

Show team riders are required to ride in two lessons per week
during the show season. One lesson is an intensive flatwork
lesson dedicated to improving the strength and balance of
both horse and rider. Basic dressage moves required of
upper level equitation riders are practiced and skills are
honed. The second lesson is a jumping lesson. Creative drills
and courses are used to develop the rider's skills at every
level over fences.

DDF will provide school ponies for beginner riders, but once
the riders reach a competitive level, they are responsible for
owning or leasing their own horse.

Lesson Cost

1/2 hour private or semi-private. . . $35.00
1 hour private. . . $55.00
1 hour semi-private. . . $45.00
1 hour group (3 or 4 riders). . . $40.00
2 group lessons per week. . . $75.00

All lessons must be paid by the month on the first week
of the month to avoid a late fee. Please look at the calendar
for the month to determine how many lessons before writing
monthly checks. Make up lessons will only be given for lessons
cancelled within 24 hours notice. No exceptions. No refunds or
credit given for missed lessons.
